March Update

23 Mar

Life crashed in and, though I had the best of intentions of writing more regularly in March,  kept me preoccupied here at home.  Last Thursday and Friday, one of my best friends from my high school days visited us with her two little girls.  At lunch time on Friday, Colin was running and playing with my friend’s little girls when he fell and hit the back of his head.  He made his first trip to the ER for staples.  Yikes!  He is our fearless little boy so Alan and I IMG_4676fear that he may have other accidents before he is all grown.

On Friday morning, my only uncle passed away.  Due to Colin’s accident and all three of us having colds, we made the decision not to drive down to Tennessee for the funeral.  It has been hard to be away from my family as my dad grieves the loss of his only sibling.  Uncle Robert was 17 years older than my dad and almost like a second father to my dad (and almost like a grandfather to my brother and me).  Since March 2009, all the men in my life who were in their 80s have passed away.  How much I miss them hits me in waves sometimes and like earthquakes other times…the smallest of things can still trigger my tears.

This month was Alan’s birthday which Colin enjoyed celebrating with chocolate cake!  He helped Alan blow out the candles (see photo) Next IMG_5262month is Colin’s birthday and we can tell he is very excited about it this year!

Our homestudy continues to drag on and on and on and on….Now the hold up is due to some notes from Alan’s interview being misplaced…We think Alan was asked these questions back in October but just found out today that the social worker either misplaced them( she thinks she may not have asked them…Alan is familiar with the questions so maybe they have been misplace…regardless they will have to be answered before the study can be finished).

We don’t have any fundraising updates this month.  Hopefully, we will have a new fundraiser to announce before too long. We do have a paypal donation button on the right side and some other links to sites that will give us a small percentage back from purchases made through our affiliate links.

Thanks for stopping by,

Heather
