29 Oct

A year ago an American family adopting their daughter from the same baby home where Colin lived for almost 2 years took photos for us(and delivered a photo book to Colin).  We first sawDSC01530 these photos in early November, and  I remember staring at them so often as we waited for word of our travel dates.  These photos were taken over 3 months since we’d met our son.  I won’t kid you..It was extremely hard to see him in one sense because he looked so sad and scared in the photos and we had read blogs of families who’d been blessed to bring their children home within 3 months of first meeting them.  Oh how I wanted to love on this boy and know he was forever our son! Over a month more would pass before we could see him again in person.

We are so glad to know that a year later if DSCF5182our sweet son is hurting or sad or even  mad, he has us to comfort him and love him.

Our Colin in October 2009: What a difference the love of a family makes!

Wow, what a difference! That must have been so hard to see his little face looking so distressed and to wonder what was happening. I’m so glad that Colin is in your loving family and doesn’t have to live that way anymore. The difference is clear!

Oh, wow, what an amazing difference! It does hurt to look back and see how sad and scared our children were and we want to just hug them a little tighter and kiss away all the bad memories. Colin will continue to bloom and grow in your loving family. I can’t wait to see him loving on his new sibling too!!!
