Smiling for the Camera…

23 Mar

Between going to Tennessee and then trying to settle Colin back in here at home after loads of love from his grandparents, we haven’t had much time for blog posts.  We appreciate all of the prayers which were said on my family’s behalf.

Colin has also been a picky eater since Tennessee (not related to trip…not sure what the cause is).  Maybe he feels confident that there is an endless supply of food here and that he can afford to picky now?  Maybe he is just going to graze on food rather than eat a lot at each meal time?  We continue to introduce new foods and try new toddler friendly recipes with him as well as giving him the same supper on most nights with us.

He also is being more “picky” about naps and bed time.  Right now, he is having “quiet time” in his crib…which today means that he is making noises while playing with his bears and refusing to go to sleep.(Note: He later fell asleep on the way home from the grocery store.)  Since the time change, we have noticed it has taken longer to get him to sleep on some nights so we are changing his bed time a little to see if it helps.  Once asleep at night he usually just wakes up once.  Mornings he wakes up between 6 and 7:00 a.m.

We finally received Colin’s certificate of citizenship today.  Apparently, the person who received it did not return it to USCIS but instead decided to wait several weeks and then mail it directly to us.  Interesting…We will call to let USCIS know that we have received it.

Here are a couple of funny photos from earlier in the month…Colin and I had just cut out some stars from wheat dough.  He still loves stars!  Notice he even had on his start IMG_1774shirt…Can you tell what Colin thought of his silly Mama’s attempt to take a photo?IMG_1776

And these photos are from when Mama caught Colin coloring his face with crayons.  Mama had no idea this was possible until she saw her son’s masterpiece.  And as for the one of him snarling?Well, that is what Colin looked like when we first started asking him to “Smile.”  Pretty scary, huh?

I wonder if he just needs time to make all the adjustments for regular sleep and all? He’s been through such huge life changes, though good it can still be stressful for him.

He is a character! He looks so much like you Heather. Wait until you see our photos of our Angel, she looks like both Don and Me. It is amazing how God picks our children for us.

These are some of my favorite pics!!! He is so adorable. My son use to do the same thing with smiling at his age. We would tell him to smile for the camera and he would squish up his face. It was hilarios. We would say never mind, don’t smile:)))) But they definitely made the cutest pics looking back:)) Enjoy every day. They grow so fast.
