The Saga Continues…

21 Feb

We were so excited to receive a big manilla envelope in the mail today from U.S. Citizenship and Immigrations Services.  If you recall, we’d had to send new photos to them within the last month due to their notice of Colin’s photos being damaged.  When we carefully opened the envelope, we were utterly shocked.  We discovered a little girl from Guyana’s citizenship certificate was inside even though the envelope was address to Colin!  It had her photo on it and her home address.  We found the phone number and called the home just to give a heads up that her certificate is being mailed back to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (along with a form & cover letter) to notify them of the error.

Is God saying we should adopt from South America?  Is Colin going to get his certificate of citizenship as a birthday present  in April?  At this rate, it is possible this mix-up won’t be rectified until then!  All these random thoughts whirling through my head as I sit here and stare at someone else’s certificate.  Oh, dear!

I haven’t heard of others having so much trouble…Maybe they just don’t blog about it!

Colin is peacefully napping right now as I type.  This is a very good thing since he was too hyper to nap yesterday.

I am sorry but I am just catching up on your blog. The pictures are great! He is such a handsome little guy!

And the grant….amazing! God is so good. He takes care of every detail.

Immigration really screwed up that one didn’t they? We actually have a similar story…when we were applying for our daughter’s 171 several years ago we received someone’s application that was supposed to be returned to them in our mailbox. I called the director’s office and left a message and she called back within 5 minutes…she was soooo embarrassed. She asked if I would please put it immediately back in the mail to her and then she said…”You will have your 171 by Saturday”…I guess this was a little incentive to get it back to her…and you know what…I did. Poor lady was stressed!
