Papers in the Wind…

28 Jul

Another family from the church where I grew up gave a donation towards our adoption of our little boy from Russia.  We so appreciate their kind gift!   Alan also just let me know someone else made a donation through his uke blog, I think.  We are so grateful to this internet friend for his gift, too!

This afternoon I was frustrated to find out that a couple of papers had to have minor information added to them before the Secretary of State would apostille them.  (the notary’s county of residence was not on the documents).  This puts us a week behind where I wanted to be with getting a couple of post-trip documents ready to send to our region….I went ahead and mailed our photo album for court to our agency and I mailed the corrected documents off to be apostilled and then sent to our agency…Some of you who aren’t familiar with adoption may be wondering if this signals the end of our paperwork…Regrettably, no…Paperwork will continue through our second trip to Russia….We are about to have to re-do documents for our file which are expiring (we started this journey early last fall).  The court can also request any document they want before they give us a court date.  Please pray that all our papers get safely to our regional court and that our judge (I don’t know if we have been assigned to one yet) will look favorably on our paperwork.

I had to tweak our projected costs again based on how long families have spent in the region and Moscow lately….and based on how little the dollar is worth…It didn’t look pretty, folks.  So we continue to pray that God will provide what we lack for our adoption and that we will have minimal (or no) debt.

You have received several blessings with the grant, loan, and donations in such a short time! Just imagine what God can do in these next months before you go back to Russia to bring your son home. Hang in there, praying for you, and so excited for you guys!

    Hi Heather,
I hope that all the paperwork comes together quickly and that you can be reunited with your little one really soon. It always seems another document is needed – At least we will be used to it once the time comes (God willing).
Take deep breaths – Everything will work out! Take care…Teresa
