On to Russia!

8 Jul

Our flight leaves about 12ish today and we have a layover in Atlanta before we leave for Moscow.  We should get to Moscow by about 10 Wednesday morning (their time).  I can’t go into detail about where we go next; suffice it to know that we will check into a hotel for an expensive nap & shower before we head out for our next journey…in the direction of the orphanage where we will be meeting the little one with whom we have been matched.  We are not going to put up region-specific details based on the advice of our agency so any updates may be void of descriptions of the region, cities, etc.  Sorry!

We have 2 carry-ons packed and 1 bag to check.  We have a camera bag and a large tote bag that I’m assuming they will count as my personal item.  We are not taking our laptop this time but we will try to get into the business center at the hotel where we are staying in region to send some emails/updates.

We appreciate all the prayers & encouragement many of you are saying on our behalf.  We are praying that God will be glorified step by step of this journey and that we will be patient and kind towards one another (even when we are sleep deprived….).  We are praying for God’s confirmation that this is our child whom we are meeting.

We will talk again many miles later 🙂

Your friends and loved ones here in Tennessee wish you a safe trip filled with God-Breathed times with the precious little boy you are to meet. May you have assurance that he is the little one God wants you to love and nurture. May all you meet be amazed of your faith and love. May your pathway be smooth and without obstacle. All our love and prayers go with you.

Heather–I just learned of your journey today thru a co-worker at Northside Christian Church. I wasn’t sure if you are a part of our congregation or not, but if so, I’m looking forward to meeting your little one when you return. Another Northside family is also traveling to Russia to adopt their two new sons this week. How exciting it is! Praying for a safe trip…
