Thoughts on Trip Preparation…

5 Jul

As we pack and pray for God’s wisdom and care on our trip to Russia, this is the verse that comes to mind (I’m posting it in The Message’s paraphrase because I liked the way it was worded):

“God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.” Ephesians 3:20-21.

Father God, we know that you want us to trust that you are a God who delights in the impossible and nothing is too hard for you.  We are praying that you will make it clear if this little one is the one you have planned for us and the one our hearts have yearned to love.  We are seeking your wisdom and strength as we prepare to travel very soon.  Please help us to hear your voice and to know your peace in the days ahead.

Dear Readers,  we are getting more and more excited about meeting this little boy and possibly playing “koo-koo” (Russian version of peek-a-boo)…giving him Meeshka…seeing him stack his cups/blocks…holding him for the first time… We are praying that we will also get to see him interact with his caregiver(s) who are familiar to him (and not strangers like us).  And yet…just it is weird being on the edge of the unknown…We know God has directed us so far and the journey so far is to His glory (not ours).  We so appreciate each one of you who has encouraged us with words, prayers…even if you never reveal yourself to us as a reader, know that we appreciate you and are praying for you.

God bless,

Congrats! I’m so excited to follow your journey. I’ll be praying that you will feel a peace about the decisions you make in Russia. Have a safe trip!
